Phoenix is known for its beautiful weather, but this year winter has held on tight–even in the Valley of the Sun! The good news is April is still a fantastic time to be out and about in Phoenix and the excess of rain has made the outdoors especially stunning.

Celebrity Fight Night–April 1
This star-studded event is a major annual fundraiser for Gateway for Cancer Research. The event is known to attract celebrities from professional sports, music and entertainment. Maricopa County Fair–April 12-16
With all the classic rides and fair food, the Maricopa County Fair is sure to have something for everyone. The fair is open Wednesday through Sunday and tickets are just $10. Friday is free for seniors ages 55 and up. For more information visit maricopacountyfair.org.
Country Thunder–April 13-16
Country music fans from all over the country will have a party in the desert during the annual Country Thunder music festival in Florence. This music festival features artists like Jon Pardi, Luke Bryan, and Dierks Bentley. Find all the information at countrythunder.com/az.
Mesa Music Festival–April 13-15
This free music festival in Mesa celebrates emerging artists with more than 200 performances offered throughout downtown Mesa. The festival also includes a vendor market with artists and food and beverages for sale. For more information visit mesamusicfest.com.
Phoenix Home & Garden Garden Tour–April 15
This self-guided tour allows visitors to experience some of the best in landscape and garden design in the Valley. Designers and homeowners will be on hand to answer questions. For tickets visit Phoenixmag.com.
Pat’s Run–April 15
Thousands of runners will descend on Tempe to participate in the annual Pat’s Run, a 4.2 mile run benefiting the Pat Tillman Foundation. Runners are also invited to participate virtually. For more information visit pattillmanfoundation.org.
Playing With Stars, Rotraut at the Desert Botanical Garden–Now through May 17
Rotraut is a world-famous artist who is based in Arizona. During this exhibit Rotraut’s large-scale, nature-inspired sculptures will add color and wonder to the garden trails while smaller sculptures will fill the Ottosen Gallery. For tickets visit dbg.org.
Wild Flowers in the Valley
